Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesperson Hossein Mohabbi announced that Iran and Oman have reached a mutually agreed-upon agreement on the proportion of control over the waters in the Strait of Hormuz and the distribution of benefits.
However, a senior Iranian official stated that the two sides are still negotiating the specific details.
Earlier this month, Iran had indicated that the agreement was nearing completion.
Iran has also accused the United States of persistently obstructing Iran's negotiations with Oman, leading to delays in the negotiation process.
