Sam Altman, and Richard Whittle will be in attendance.

The meeting will take place in North Carolina, USA, on September 1-2, with tech and trade officials from over 20 countries participating.

Bloomberg reports that Musk and Sacks will speak on the first day, while Altman and Richard Whittle will take the stage on the second day.

The U.S.

hopes G20 members will embrace a more relaxed approach to tech regulation: avoiding the creation of specialized regulatory bodies, relying on existing industry regulators as much as possible, and encouraging government-industry collaboration in testing new technologies like AI.

This framework, known as the "Carolina Principles," is non-binding.

If consensus is reached among member countries, these principles will be included in a joint statement for discussion at the G20 Leaders' Summit in December.

This approach is essentially the international version of the Trump administration's domestic AI policy.

The White House explicitly stated in March of this year that there will be no new federal AI regulatory body established, and instead, industry regulators and industry-led standards will be utilized to minimize regulatory barriers to AI deployment.

Now, the U.S.

is ready to extend the same set of rules to the G20.
